The Wood's Secret Garden

Since Tree Change Dolls went viral in January of 2015, artist Sonia Singh has inspired thousands of artists across the globe to use their artistic abilities to turn original Bratz dolls into more realistic and childlike dolls for children.  California artist, Dianna Wood, decided to create her own version of these transformed Bratz which she calls "Just K.I.D.S." in order to make money for organizations that help rescue kids trapped in the sex trafficking industry. The biggest difference, is that Tree Change Dolls are sold for well over $200 dollars each and sell out in minutes.  Dianna keeps her dolls affordable with prices starting at only $24.99.  Dianna created over 100 dolls in 2015 and the Wood's were able to give $1,250 dollars at the end of 2015 to an organization that works both locally and internationally to help put an end to sex trafficking and to provide safe houses for girls who are rescued out of captivity. Today was a "Do anything you want" day. These haven't come around very often and I was really excited to have no obligations and no housework, etc, I got this idea to use a bunch of the odds and ends (left over from the doll campaign) and to really challenge myself, artistically. I decided to attempt a Captain Jack Sparrow" doll.  He's a work in progress. Much more work needed on the face - But, I am thrilled with the progress. I will post the final in a few days, once I have made some corrections to his features on the face and added the detailing to the custom. WIN THIS DOLL! I am holding a drawing starting today which will run through December 1st.   We really need to sell the last of the 100 "Just K.I.D.S." dolls before December 15th in order to reach our goal for this campaign and present a check to the Grace Network. Everyone who purchases a "Just K.I.D.S" doll between now and December 1st will be entered into the drawing to WIN this doll absolutely free (including shipping). I found a 2 foot tall used Bratz doll, but when she arrived she had sustained damage and was headed for the trash bin. Under her chin a small piece had cracked  away and her head wobbled around without support. I was so sad. As soon as the three new boys moved into the neighborhood they heard about a great fishing hole in the Wood's Secret Garden. With poles in hand and a large enough bucket to hold their morning catch they decided to take the short hike through the uncharted territory.  Even though they had heat rumors about the Wood's Secret Garden" being a magical place, they could hardly believe that such a beautiful place could exist inside a senior mobile home part  They had a most wonderful adventure this morning and will return soon to this amazing place! T his morning I had an idea. So, while still in my pajamas, I go out to the little area on the corner of our street and the main street, where I know there are tons of fallen leaves from the Japanese Maple tree that grows near the pond. I set up the scene and begin the "Fall" photo session. Little did I know what joy this would bring to passerby's out walking their dogs. I even heard a grumpy old man, who as never said a word, say under his breath as he walked by , "Well that is the cutest things I have seen in a long time".
