So, one has to ask themselves, (especially if they have been spending hours each day for over four years taking pictures of birds) "Does the world need another bird photographer?" -- Especially one who can't afford one of those great camera/lens set-ups that would further enhance their skill and abilities.
What I am discovering, after over 4 years of both taking pictures of birds and looking at other peoples pictures of birds, is that I am only really happy with the pictures that convey a "personality".
I have also learned that photography for me is so much more then taking a technically "good" photo. For me, it is simply a means to an end.
And what is that end?
I suppose, for me, it's an image that brings joy to people in a special way. An image that goes beyond what the bird looks like in all of it's splendor. An image that comes alive in the heart and mind of the viewer; and; even if only for a brief moment, makes them smile like a little kid seeing their first butterfly.
I suppose I don't need to take anymore pictures. I just need to go through the 90+ thousands that I have already taken and find those special ones to share with others.
